            Kelly and I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the guide service you provided us during our honeymoon. I personally learned so much from talking to you and listening to what you were saying and watching what you were doing. The fishing was great and I don’t think I have gone a single day since we returned home and not talked about the Provo River, your guide service or just the incredible fishing in general. You have a real gift and a great personality and being a business man myself, I take notice of that kind of stuff. I’ve included a few pictures that you can do what ever you wish with. If you’d like to put them on your website, submit them to Orvis or just keep them for yourself. I’ll be sure to send some pics throughout the summer if I hook into any thing real nice. I plan on taking my father to the Battenkill River for father’s day and I may even get a chance to fish the mighty Delaware River due to having some work out that way…we’ll have to see though. I’ve also got my father talked into taking a trip back out to Utah, however, im not sure how soon.

My name is Dan Walker, and on June 20th two friends and I went
on an absolutely awesome fly fishing trip with Ryan
as our guide.  Having two guide with us made for some 
exceptional hands on teaching.  All three of us would be 
considered green fly fishers by any standard, but none the 
less, Ryan had us fishing and catching in minutes. 
It turned out that the waters were running pretty high and fast
on our day of fishing, which I understand would normally
reduce fishing successes, however our guides were so well 
versed that they didn’t let the conditions reduce our catching
one bit.  Moreover, personally, after being on many non-fly 
fishing trips in my life, I can say without a doubt that this was
one of the top fishing (and yes, even catching) experiences of
my life.  They were upbeat and supportive through the entire
four hours, and never once batted an eye at having to re-hook 
our lines after losing them (and we lost many of them).


Thanks again.  We will definitely be back.

Three very happy fisherman

First, a word about Joe Mitchell: he is a terrific person who happens to also be a great guide! It was a real pleasure to spend some time with him last Friday and Saturday. I want to thank him for handling the 3 of us on Friday afternoon, and for handling the difficult task of running back and forth among us – putting on new nymph rigs every time we broke them off on trees or in the water – not easy to keep 3 fishermen happy, but he sure did it. I also am appreciative of his gentle explanations to my wife Saturday, who is unfamiliar with trout and their habitat (she’s basically a blue gill fisher from the Mid West). His easy way was most reassuring to her. I was just sorry that I couldn’t stay out longer, even after the green drake hatch was over, but the heat had gotten to my wife, and we just needed to leave the water early.

Fly Fishing Success Story

Rocky Mountain Outfitters listened to my short-notice fly fishing request adn arranged for me to meet guide John Patching.  After 15 minutes of professional instruction and demonstration techniques,  I was up to my waist in 44 degree water...catching my limit and many more released....four hours of joy and excitement! Thanks!

Hey Joe,

Thanks for taking care of my equipment shipment, everything worked out really great.  Enclosed is a CD with pictures from my trip in August with Jeremy and last week with Scott. Both guides were excellent: well prepared, knowledgeable about the river, patient, and helpful.

On the August trip, I caught 19 of the nicest browns and rainbows.  The fishing was excellent from the first cast, 12" brown to the last cast of the day, 18" rainbow.  That day was the best day I have had in years for the size and steady fishing.  My compliments.

On the April trip (half day) the fishing was a bit more spotty, but the size and fight of the fish was super.  Scott got me into some great water with active feeding fish.  Great trips.  Enjoy the pictures.  I'll bet you don't get many fishermen from Mars!

Fishing Hot Toes Cold

Enjoyed a great day Saturday.  Fishing was action packed but the weather a little cold it made some great memories for my wife and I.  Our toes have their feeling back so all is well.  I can't wait to comeback to Utah for some great fishing and even better service. You guys are the best we've been with.  Rocky Mountain Outfitters has our confidence and business for  years to come.  You all run a first class guide service.

Awesome April Day

Justed wanted to email and say thanks for an awesome trip.  We couldn't believe it could be so fun in Utah during April.  We came out to go skiing and ended up snowmobiling, horseback riding, and fly fishing.  Mike thinks he died and went to heaven.  Your guides were all wonderful fun people.  They took great care of us and made us feel like we were part of the family.  Thank you so much we will be visiting your place many more times.  Say hi to Amber, John, and John.  Here is a picture of my first rainbow trout.

Our Florida Friends

Just wanted to say thank you for the most enjoyable day of our vacation.  We never expected snowmobiling would be so much fun.  John took such good care of us.  The photos you gave us will never go unforgotten. We have them as screen savers on our home computer.  We will be back again, pencil us in for January.  I think Bob has decided we will start doing a snowmobile vacation and throw in a day of skiing.  Thank you so much!!

Thanks for all your help in putting together a fantastic vacation!  My family and friends had a great week snowmobiling with you and  your staff.  Your licky to live in such a beutiful part of the country.
